The fee
- Is Coliven really free?
- Yes. There is no monthly fee and no trial to run out. You get the whole platform, and we take 2.5% of what you sell through it. If you never sell a ticket, you never pay us anything.
- What counts as a sale?
- Any paid ticket, deposit, contribution or membership bought through Coliven. Free events and free memberships are never charged.
- Is the rate the same on memberships?
- Yes. Tickets, deposits, contributions and memberships all sit at 2.5%. There is no plan to upgrade to and no feature behind a wall.
Payments and payouts
- Who receives the money from a ticket?
- You do. Payments go to the Stripe account connected to the event, and on an event with several hosts you choose which account is paid.
- What are Stripe fees, and why are they separate?
- Stripe is the payment processor that takes the card payment and pays out to your account. Their fees go to Stripe, and Coliven never sees or collects them. Keeping the two apart is how you can tell what you are paying and to whom.
- Do guests see the fee?
- Yes. Every fee is shown at checkout before anyone pays, so a guest always knows the full amount.
