Common Ground Practitioners Gathering

A space to connect, grow relationships and deepen our crafts.

We believe that trusted relationships, community and belonging matter more than ever, just as much as practicing finding common ground, within difference.

This is why Common Ground is calling in a group of fellow practitioners to our second 5-day gathering dedicated to strengthening our web of relationships, learning & support, in service of our shared crafts and work in postgrowth, commons-based organizing.

What to expect

A space that allows deep exchange with peers about the work we all do: our projects, our practice, our challenges and growing edges - to share and uncover our wisdom, offer each other support, find intersections and spark collaborations.

• A group of 15-25 people

• For practitioners, by practitioners: we will co-create our program with open space principles, aiming to balance:

  • Sessions

  • Hanging out together

  • Rest/relaxation

  • Dedicated times for your own project or client work

• Expect emergence, lots of honest sharing experiences of our work, movement, somatic practices, likeminded & hearted, caring and intelligent people, delicious food and a beautiful location in nature!

We want this to be a nourishing experience, that you leave with more energy than you came with :).

Who this is for (and our bigger why)

We are deeply passionate about what we do, and believe that being part of a rich, vibrant, and connected ecosystem of practitioners and organizations doing aligned work is essential to our impact. That’s why we want to invest the (quality) time and our (physical) presence it takes to grow relationships, with others who feel the same - to lay the foundation to keep growing together over years to come - moving at the speed of trust.

This gathering is for practitioners who are excited to widen the ecosystem of their own work, who long for space to zoom out of their individual mission, to learn and deepen their craft together with fellow practitioners.

• Getting there: train / plane / car to Zagreb, and then a 1 hour transfer to the venue

Your host

This gathering is being hosted by members of Common Ground, a new collective that has been seeded since January this year, emerging out of its predecesor, Greaterthan. In this new chapter, Common Ground, is focused on deepening into the craft of supporting individuals, teams and collectives in Europe to practice caring, wholesome, and sustainable ways of building (structures), relating (belonging), and sensing (embodied intelligence as a strategy). We are practitioners that work and grow into what we sense is needed to be present and well within the unpredictable and uncertain future we find ourselves in.

Program

• Monday Nov 2: Arrival at venue by 5 pm, welcome dinner & opening circle

• Tuesday-Thursday: Core gathering days

• Friday Nov 5: Closing circle & departures from 11 AM

The program will be co-created on site using Open Space prinicples. We aim to balance activities that are mind, body/movement and nature focused. We will also have dedicated times for your own projects and clients. All sessions apart from opening & closing the day are optional.

Some examples of sessions we might have:

• Deep Dives into key approaches and bodies of work we bring

• Burning Inquiries: Why are we doing the work we do in these times? What are big questions we are bumping up against right now? What role to we have to play?

• Wise crowds sessions around specific challenges or growth edges in our work and current projects

• An experience of a concrete practice or tool that could inspire or be used by others

• Conversations & music by the campfire and in the natural hot tubs and sauna

Note about attendance: It’s important for us to have a clear “container” we step into together, so we ask everyone joining to arrive by Monday afternoon and stay for the whole gathering period (if essential, leaving early is possible, but no late arrivals).

Costs

all inclusive (room, board, transport) for 4 nights and 5 days:

• Double bed in private room: 630€

• Single in shared room: 590€

• Dormitory: 530 €
